I begin each work without any preconceptions of its completed form. Accidents, non-sensical desires, subsumed personas are elements that welcomingly come into play in the act of making and contribute to the potential for newness and surprise.
In my works, I use the ambiguity and obscuration to create layered levels of information. My process involves first describing forms or figures that are urgently conscious and then proceeding to divest them of their characteristics. I create these areas of abstraction as a kind of territory for subjectivity and possibilities a room for second thoughts and a suspension of desires.
